What the Carers Say
Is a section for Carers to share their experiences whilst working through The Workshop, discussing their favourite parts and how they harnessed their creativity.
Enjoy!
Carers day out!
What a book!
Written with heart and an abundance of knowledge!
Jo has written this book with her soul, recognising exactly what all caregivers feel and what they go through caring for their loved ones.
We can all recognise and relate through all her experiences.
Please read this book, whether you are in the caring role of not. It will give you the ultimate insight into delivering care with love and compassion.

I particularly enjoyed the hand massage routine, it’s easy to follow with the photos. It made my hands feel nice and soft and I practice with my daughter. We are enjoying working on our memory box, it’s a work in progress, making it look nice on the outside and filling it.

The book is a good all- rounder, there’s a bit of everything in it. I enjoy the stretches most and I do the breathing, it relaxes me.

I personally love everything about the Carers Day Out Workshop by Jo Nicholls.
I find it very inspiring and quite emotional in a good way. It gives you that feel good experience with easy to follow instructions for everyone, no matter where you are in life and appeals to the holistic heart in all of us in some way. My absolute favourites are Recognising Energy as I am a big believer in positive energy and the sense of smell so Smelling Essential Oils is very appealing to myself. But overall I love the whole thing.

As a carer knowing you are not alone, and remembering you are important too can make all the difference. I found this book offers relatable stories and practical coping strategies, reminding you that even when things feel overwhelming, there is always a way forward.
The sections on stretches and healing meditation are especially beneficial. They encourage you to pause, take a few moments just for yourself and recharge before carrying on.
Ultimately this book draws on the real-life experience of a carer who has been there. It promotes creativity as a powerful tool to help you keep going when life feels difficult.

In a world where so many demands are made on people it is difficult to find the time and space to properly breathe. Taking a few moments to close your eyes, clear your mind (this takes practice!) and concentrate on your breathing settles the nervous system, reduces feelings of stress and anxiety. A simple and effective way for carers to re-charge themselves.

It’s too easy to overlook yourself when caring for a loved one, this book is a gentle and well written reminder to look after yourself. The carers pack contains everything you need to help you relax. Thank you Jo for not making me feel guilty when I relax.
